Reading Borough Council held an Online Safety Forum, a Young Voices led summit in association with the Reading Community Safety Partnership, to discuss how to support young people around online risk and safety.
Speakers included Amanda Stephens, a campaigner for education around the dangers of social media and online risk for young people, as well as government bodies and charities set up by parents after losing their children to online grooming and knife crime, such as Molly Rose Foundation, Breck Foundation and Ben Kinsella Trust.
The forum was attended by over 200 adults and children. It was an emotional and moving day as the audience heard from young people about their experiences online, the dangers and risks children face, and accounts from parents on how they tragically lost their children to grooming, suicide algorithms and knife crime.
Ellie sensitively recorded the event on her iPad to create a digital visual that would be shared at the end of the day. It would ask the two important questions:
What do adults need to know?
What do adults need to ask?
The visual provided a takeaway for both adults and young people at the event on the key learnings for how to protect themselves and their children online. It was shared with attendees post-event and will be used by Reading Borough Council in strategic meetings.
The mural Ellie produced for us sums up the learning for the day perfectly. Feedback about Lim's contribution was amazing. It gave the event an edge, which many people have commented on.

Supporting Gateshead Food Partnership to visualise launch event
We supported Gateshead Food Partnership to visualise their launch event: Gateshead Food Summit. We supported the day with a range of services and our client Nikki Dravers was delighted.
Entrepreneurs' Forum 2024
Ellie Chapman attended the Entrepreneurs’ Forum annual conference: Together We Can Take on the World. She did was she does best and shone a light on the information shared on the day by creating a sketchnote of each speaker session on her iPad.
