Ellie spoke on a panel with Entrepreneurs' Forum

Celebrating the Tees Valley Region

Entrepreneurs' Forum took to the stage in the form of a panel discussion during a regular event by Tees Valley Business Club. Elaine Stroud, CEO of Entrepreneurs' Forum, hosted the panel and on it were: Lim's founder Ellie Chapman, Hannah Brennan from Seers and Ian Brown from Chestnut Polymers.

Inspired by the venue - Teesside International Airport - the title of the event was 'Business set for take off'. Together, the panel talked about their growth stories whilst sharing their innovations, challenges and opportunities.

Ellie's key takeaways

💫 As a founders and business owners, we spend a lot of time, energy and care building our businesses. It's important we are creating in a space that we are passionate about. In this way, we can bring our best-selves, our best energy and best thinking.

💫 Having a strong network who can support you throughout your ups and downs to offer guidance and insight is key when running a business. Look for networks and communities both inside and outside of work that will bring you fresh insight too.

💫 We must support the next generation of talent and inspire them with what's possible with the skills they have.

Shining a light on some of the questions we got asked

Lim’s been going for 2 years now and our foundations are strong. We’re in a position to look at strategic partnerships with the business leaders we work shoulder to shoulder with. We’ve launched illuminate, a bespoke visual offering where we provide ongoing visual support to be strategic partners with our clients. Read more about illuminate here.

I’ve worked with my core team for a long time and they came with me when we started Lim.

At Lim we look for people who can draw, but more importantly they understand group process and how to work with business leaders. I need the right team around me to deliver the care, quality and collaboration that we expect.
