How to: Maximise your visuals

A handy guide for clients

What to do with visuals we've live scribed or graphic recorded during a meeting or conference.

When we've drawn during a conversation, the final visual is yours to keep forever and to use however you need.

Sometimes though, despite best intentions, we see our visuals not being used to their full potential. In our view it's a missed opportunity to engage your team and continue the conversation. So, to help you get the most out of every visual we create at Lim, we’ve created this handy guide full of ideas. After-all, it's important to maximise your visuals so they continue to make an impact for your business.

Visuals created during externally facing conference that's outside of your team and organisation

Imagine, we've live scribed key messages during your conference.

So much is possible when a visual has been created during an conference and no NDAs are involved. There are lots of ways you can use the visuals after the once the final word is said and participants are on their way home. Here are some ideas:

  • Share a photo or scan of the visual with participants on email so they have a lasting impression of the day.

  • Create follow-up communications with prospective clients and cite the visual as a valuable resource with key themes and learnings.

  • Share the visual on your website as a summary of your event or as a promotion for the next one.

  • Bring it to your next conference and use it to see the progression and evolution of key themes.

  • Print it out and have it displayed in your office.

  • Be playful. Include it in your company's Intranet, or have it as a Zoom/Teams background.

Visuals created during internal meetings that are top secret

Imagine, we've graphic recorded while your team had a conversation about strategy and goals or made decisions about important things.

For any internal meetings where we have enabled your team to do the work they need to do whilst working visually, here are some ways you can get even more value from what we've created together.

  1. Reuse them during team meetings to keep your team focussed on the continued conversation / decisions / goals.
  2. Print the visuals in large format and stick them around the office.
  3. Gift your team a 'we're in it together' postcard with a personal note on one side and the visual on the back.
  4. If the content can be shared outside of your team, share the visual on your channels to shine a light on the work your team are doing.
  5. Use internally as a training tool for employees.

Visuals created support research projects

Imagine, we've visualised elements of your research project to support with communication to other teams, stakeholders, funders or the public.

Recently, we’ve seen a big increase in visualising research for universities, charities, and medical research.

If we've created research visuals for you, consider the ways these could progress your future projects.

  • Use as a visual representation of your findings. Visuals make research more accessible for different audiences.

  • Share on your social media channels, not just as a research paper.

  • Present to stakeholders to help secure funding bids.

  • The visuals can become a reference point to illustrate your journey.

Keeping the conversation going.

We hope this guide has helped you think about other ways you can use the the visuals we create, it's important to us they continue to illuminate and make an impact for your business after we leave the room.
