We’re paying it forward this month

Sharing our wisdom

In a bid to support the future of tomorrow, Lim is really into helping emerging creatives go forth and make their mark. By passing on our knowledge in a really constructive way, we can raise aspirations and create opportunities for the next wave of brilliant talent.

This month, our founder and creative director, Ellie Chapman, is imparting her top tips on some of the brightest stars of the future.

A new Arena

Not only is Ellie volunteering her time this spring to mentor two aspiring creatives with The Arena UK, which is a community who elevate those just starting out in the creative industry, she was also recently asked by her former school in Yarm to not only produce a sketchnote that could be used for their Careers Convention but to also chat to the students about her career journey.

Here’s Ellie with all the deets.

Nurturing creative minds

I was absolutely thrilled when these two opportunities came my way. Firstly, being part of the mentoring programme with The Arena is such a great way for me to give something back. I really believe that if you have guidance and advice early on, it can make a massive difference to your progression. Then when Yarm School got in touch, I was delighted to co-create this sketchnote with Stephen Edwards, Head of Careers, to give young people some guidance as they step into their careers.

Take a look at the visual for key takeaways on how to progress when you’re just starting out.

'I then went back to my roots to talk to the students and hopefully I’ve inspired the next cohort of creative superstars. I really wanted to convey how I got from sitting where they are to where I am now, and Phoebe brought it to life beautifully on the day.

We had some brilliant feedback and here’s what he said:'

“Lim’s talk shared their experiences of the creative industries and the growing of their brand, and was as informed as it was accessible. The process of developing and growing such a business has led to considerable wisdom that so many others should benefit from. It certainly provided considerable food for thought for the students as they embark on the next stage of their careers.'
