Live Drawing

Live Drawing for Events and Conferences

There is so much rich information shared at conferences and events, and then it disappears. Why would you let all your hard work go to waste?

We capture key learnings and themes in real time through live scribing and graphic recording, giving participants a visual they can engage with, share, and return to long after the event.

Whether you want big paper visuals that spark interest during the conference, or shareable digital visuals and timelapse videos - we’ve got you.

Make it memorable

Not only will live drawing your event engage your audience on the day, but you'll have a visual that tells your story in a memorable way.

And it doesn't stop there. The visual becomes an impactful communication tool that you can share on your socials, website, with participants, and as a new business tool for prospective clients.

Live recording in events

Meetings and Workshops

A lot of the time, when teams come together to discuss strategy, planning, or need to make a decision, words are spoken with the support of a slide deck and individual notebooks. The result? Understanding can get lost and people leave unsure of how to action next steps.

Graphic recording turns this way of working on it’s head. Instead of everyone writing individual notes, a graphic recorder will be in the room recording conversations as they happen, for everyone to see. By creating clear visual maps and working tools, it unlock a group's thinking and lights up their imagination.

This way of working brings groups together and means that everyone leaves on the same page, with a clear understanding of what needs to happen next. Our graphic recording has been known to steer change within businesses, thoughtfully engage teams, and above all, bring a group together.

It's not just pretty pictures

We're experienced in working alongside business leaders, and we understand how crucial it is to create memorable, purposeful meetings. It's not a 'nice to have', it's a valuable tool for leaders who want to inspire change and maximise productivity within their team.

Live drawing FAQs

Graphic recording is another term for live drawing during meetings. It's a tool that engages participants and inspires new ways of thinking.

A graphic recorder is group process savvy and experienced in working alongside business leaders. Our curiosity means that we quickly understand the purpose of why your group is coming together, and how the visual is going to support the group both during and after the meeting.

These visuals tend to be storytelling in structure and track alongside the agenda of the meeting. They're detailed in approach and often have visual metaphors as their overarching design.

Interaction with the group will often be during breaks when participants come to see the visual. The meeting facilitator will often build in contribution time during the meeting too.

Graphic recording captures different perspectives so the links between thoughts become clearer. It can inspire new ideas, honour everyone’s input, build trust and foster mutual respect.

Our visualisers are trained and talented in listening and capturing in real time, which means prep before a session is efficient. Before the session, we have a call to talk through the agenda, logistics, and hear ideas from your side about types of imagery to include. Our admin team will organise the finer details such as commercials and material shipping.

Live drawing in a meeting adds engagement and interaction and also creates a living artefact. Teams are proud to own these tools and they can become part of the business.

We ask to be introduced at the beginning of sessions so people know who we are and why we’re there. There’s nothing worse than creating something that people don’t engage with – instead we want to create visuals that mean something to the people in the room and bring the group together.

At its simplest, visually capturing content in the moment is called ‘live scribing’ and is usually used at big events and conferences. There is little interaction with the group and the visual is simple in structure and quick to create. Live-scribing creates a snapshot of the content that has been shared - it’s easy to understand in the blink of an eye.

Graphic recording is a more skilled technique, involving group process and facilitation. Our team is very experienced in working closely with business leaders and we'll work with you to understand the purpose of why the group is coming together. When graphic recording, the visual becomes a tool to unite and inspire.

Before the meeting or event we take time to understand the agenda. We like to know what's going to be happening, who is going to be speaking, and what the process is for group engagement. We also ask what we should stay away from. All of these insights will give us a good overall picture leading into the session. From there we go with the flow, listen, and watch. If we're not sure about something, be it a phrase, acronym, or link, we'll wait for a break and ask for clarity.

This comes down to what you’re using it for. We’ll always come up with some great ideas to make sure you’re getting the maximum impact from the visual for big results. We always digitise a live visual so it can be shared and used however you need. And of course, it's yours forever. Our live drawing has been known to steer change within businesses, thoughtfully engage teams, and above all, bring a group together.

We’re experts in visualising business content and are comfortable with technical language and jargon. If there’s something particularly technical or specific to your project, we can chat about this before so everyone is on the same page. We’ll always spellcheck everything when it's digitised too.
